Planning to be away?
If you are away from home during fall, winter, or spring, you need to maintain heat to prevent the plumbing from freezing. When you leave home, your insurance company may have requirements in order for your coverage to remain valid. You may be required to have someone check your home daily, or to shut off your water and drain all pipes and appliances. Depending on the insurer, these rules may apply to trips as short as 4 days. Restrictions are not limited to primary residences, but also can apply to cottages and rented homes. To find out what your insurer requires, please contact us.
